20 Member Chinese Delegation Visit Bengaluru as part of the 4th NITI-Aayog-DRC Dialogue

~ First visit to Bengaluru post MoU signing between NITI Aayog and DRC during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to China in 2015 ~

~Delegation visits Infosys, Bangalore Helix Biotech Park and Huawei R&D Centre~

Bengaluru 30 October, 2018: A 20 member Chinese delegation comprising of members from Development Research Center (DRC) of Peoples’ Republic of China and other institutes in China visited Bengaluru as part of the 4th NITI Aayog-DRC Dialogue to be held over two days beginning 31st October 2018 in Mumbai. NITI Aayog and DRC signed an MOU for promoting co-operation and understanding on various strategic macro-economic and policy issues during Prime Minister’s visit to China during May 2015. Both the organizations meet annually alternatively in India and China and hold dialogue in mutually agreed areas. So far three dialogues have been held. The Indian side is led by Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog (currently Mr. Rajiv Kumar) and the Chinese side by President, DRC (Minister).

Speaking at the occasion, Shri. Gaurav Gupta, Prinicipal Secretary, Department of IT/BT and ST and Large and Medium Scales Industries, Government of Karnataka said, “Both India and China are emerging as go to markets for technology investment, and it is essential that we co create and collaborate with each other to tackle challenges being faced by our countries as we move forward. Karnataka’s conducive environment, with several R&D institutes, a cosmopolitan culture and availability of skilled labour, has made the state a technology leader not only in India, but across the globe. This is evident from the growing interest of several companies from countries across the world in Karnataka. We hope to work towards an enhanced cooperation on innovation and technology development aiming at actions strengthening cooperation between Chinese and Indian industries and start-up ecosystems.”

As a part of technical visit in Bengaluru, the delegation today visited Infosys, Bangalore Helix Biotech Park and Huawei R&D center.
