Bengaluru, 29th May 2019: Shri. Gaurav Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of IT,BT & ST, Government of Karnataka today inaugurated the Ramaiah-GoK Technology Business Incubation Centre in Peenya Industrial Area, Bengaluru. This K-Tech Innovation Hub, set up in association with M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences is spread across 10,000 square feet and is aimed at promoting the culture of entrepreneurship through technology business incubation and establishment of start-ups amongst its students, faculty and also interested citizens. Dr. Shivaguru Sritharan, Vice-Chancellor – M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Mr. Srinivasa Murthy, IAS (retd), Chief Executive Officer, Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), Ms. Champa E, General Manager, Karnataka Information Technology Services (KITS) and Dr. S. Balasubramanya, Sr. Consultant (Biotech), KITS were also present at the inauguration.

In his inaugural address, Shri. Gaurav Gupta said, “We envision Karnataka as the innovation and technology capital of the world and are keen to create a robust ecosystem where all stakeholders benefit from the support provided and mentorship. Bengaluru is recognized as one of the leading tech hubs of the globe and a leading startup ecosystem with depth of talent that is unparallel and unsurpassed. This initiative is part of the Government of Karnataka’s push to promote business incubators in various academic institutions. This incubator will cater to technologies such as Internet of Things, Electronics System Design & Manufacturing, Robotics and Intelligence Systems and other emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. It enables early stage technology startups to build prototypes, test and validate their products The Lab includes modern woodworking tools, 3D printers, IoT, as well as electronics and mechanical machinery labs which include controllers, CNC machines, laser cutting machines etc.”

The Ramaiah-GoK Technology Business Incubation Centre is designed as a shared prototyping facility with co-working, as well as private office spaces and other amenities to catalyse the growth of innovators and technology-based product startups in the region.
